Fire Recovery and Resilience Workforce Program
The Fire Recovery and Resilience Workforce Program (Program) provides immediate hiring and training support for impacted and dislocated workers from the January 2025 windstorms and wildfires in partnership with DEO and the region’s America’s Job Centers of California. The goal of the Program is to ensure that all impacted workers have access to financial security in the early days of the emergency, career pathways that lead to new and better jobs, and opportunities to participate in the recovery and rebuild of our fire-impacted areas.
About the Program
The Program offers multiple hiring and training services to access temporary subsidized employment and long-term career pathways that provide quality jobs and economic mobility. Eligible job-seeking participants will enroll with an America’s Job Center of California, develop an individual employment plan, and may access multiple services, where needed.
The Program also supports businesses – those who are impacted as well as those who are interested in accessing hiring and training services – and training providers who may offer their skills training to impacted workers.

Eligible participants may be screened and hired in temporary paid positions with County agencies and other participating organizations that support the recovery, including cleanup and humanitarian roles.
