Los Angeles County is welcoming the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. These Games represent a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity for the region to expand economic activity, showcase cultural vibrancy and innovation, and build a legacy with long-lasting benefits.
To help realize this opportunity, DEO and LA County will:
- Highlight the economic potential from the 2028 Games and LA County’s goals and commitments for maximum community benefit
- Provide direct resources for youth, workers, small and local businesses, and community members to participate in the 2028 Games, including volunteer, employment, and procurement opportunities
- Advance community investment and sustainability efforts that create long-term value for residents

2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games Economic Impact Analysis and Goals Framework
In May 2024, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion introduced by Supervisors Holly J. Mitchell and Hilda L. Solis to conduct a comprehensive economic impact and opportunity analysis of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The report was conducted by HR&A Advisors.
The report outlines key economic findings and key goals and commitments that will guide the County’s approach to advancing 2028 Games and sports entertainment-related economic opportunity. DEO will continue to highlight policy, programs and services, and resources that directly activate goals and commitments outlined in this report.

Path to 2028 – Business Readiness Workshops
DEO is collaborating with cities and community business organizations countywide on a Path to 2028 roadshow that prepares local, small businesses with tools and technical assistance to pursue public sector, LA28, and other Games-related contracting opportunities.
Workshop Details – Get Ready, Set, Go
Workshops are structured for small, local businesses interested in successfully competing for Games and public sector contracts. In addition to the sessions, participants will access long-term 1:1 technical assistance with DEO’s Office of Small Business and referrals for legal, capital, and hiring and training resources.

For Workers
High Road Training Partnerships for 2028 Games
DEO and partner Dalberg Advisors have opened a Request for Applications for organizations to apply to design and deliver High Road Training Partnerships (HRTPs) that support direct employment and long-term economic mobility related to the 2028 Games. Priority sectors may include Transportation, Retail, Hospitality, Food Services, and Arts, Media, and Entertainment. HRTPs are worker-center, industry-informed job training programs delivered by cross-sector partners. Applications open on September 28th.
Recruitment for selected programs, including jobseekers and hiring employer partners, anticipated in the first quarter of 2027.
