About Legal Aid
The Los Angeles Regional Legal Aid Program (Legal Aid Program) offers no-cost educational legal workshops and academies, one-on-one counseling, and referrals for pro bono representation with expert legal organizations for small business owners across the LA region. All legal services are offered at no cost for eligible small businesses.
This Program is administered by the County of Los Angeles Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and its Office of Small Business and the City of Los Angeles Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD) and made possible through partnership with legal partners Bet Tzedek Legal Services and Public Counsel.

Access Legal ASsistance
To take advantage of this program, small businesses should submit an intake form to verify eligibility and outline their basic legal needs for one-on-one consultations and referrals for representation. A follow-up will occur within 48 hours to provide an assessment and outline next steps. Small businesses may also sign up for ongoing legal education workshops and academies, as available. Services and consultations are available in Spanish and other languages.
Webinars and Presentations
Sign up for educational workshops and presentations on legal matters pertaining to businesses. These sessions are offered both virtually and in-person, in English and Spanish throughout the year.
Small Business Academy
Three-hour intensive courses designed to sharpen business owners’ legal I.Q. around a number of topics. It is followed by the opportunity to meet one-on-one with experts.
1:1 Legal Consultation
Take an assessment and meet with a lawyer to review unique business law issues and opportunities.
Direct Client Representation
Small business owners who require legal representation following direct counseling may be referred to pro bono legal counsel.
