LA County DEO Opens Request for Proposals for Community Forestry Management Plan: Street Tree Planting and Maintenance Services

Proposal Due January 13, 2026, by 12:00 PM

Los Angeles, CA – Today, the Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) announced the official release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for its Community Forestry Management Plan (CFMP): Street Tree Planting and Maintenance Project Services. This RFP seeks qualified organizations to provide tree planting and maintenance services in alignment with the County’s broader goals of environmental equity, community beautification, and job quality.

The RFP calls for qualified vendors to plant and maintain over 1,100 trees across residential streets and corridors in unincorporated areas of LA County. The initiative is supported by federal funding from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service.

Key Details:

  • Proposals Due: January 13, 2026, by 12:00 PM PT
  • Written Questions Due: December 15, 2025, by 12:00 PM PT
  • Anticipated Subaward Term: April 1, 2026 – June 30, 2026, with two optional one-year extensions through 2028
  • Available Funding: Up to $775,000
  • Eligibility: Proposers must meet minimum mandatory requirements outlined in Section 4.0 of the RFP
  • The selected contractor(s) will be responsible for the implementation of street tree planting, short-term maintenance, and reporting efforts in compliance with federal, state, and county guidelines. The work will directly support
  • DEO’s mission to foster inclusive, sustainable economic opportunity and advance the County’s climate and equity goals.

This grant will be implemented in partnership with the Department of Public Works (DPW), the Chief Sustainability Office (CSO), the Department of Public Health (DPH), and the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR).
