Small Business Recovery Grants
Small Business Recovery Grants for Businesses Impacted by West Hollywood Water Main Break
The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), in partnership with the Office of Third District Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath, is providing targeted financial assistance to small businesses impacted by the West Hollywood water main break near Sunset Boulevard and Holloway Drive.
The Small Business Recovery Grant is designed to help businesses located within the designated impact area address economic losses and business interruptions associated with the incident. Southern California Grantmakers will serve as the program’s fiscal sponsor, with AidKit supporting grant administration and payment processing.
AidKit on behalf of DEO will contact identified businesses directly with instructions to complete a streamlined intake and verification process. Businesses outside of the designated impact area are not eligible for funding through this specific recovery program.
Who is Eligible
To receive funding, a business must:
- Be included on the DEO-approved list of businesses identified within the designated impact area near Sunset Boulevard and Holloway Drive
- Have been operating at the identified location at the time of the water main break
- Complete the required business verification and grant intake process
- Provide the information and documentation necessary to verify the business and authorized recipient and process payment
How the Program Works
- Business Identification: Based on canvassing efforts within the designated commercial impact area associated within the water main break in West Hollywood on July 16, 2026.
- Direct Outreach: Identified businesses will receive information from DEO or its program partners explaining the grant and how to complete the required intake process.
- Intake and Verification: Businesses will complete a streamlined form to confirm business ownership and contact information and provide the information needed to process the grant.
- Grant Processing: Program administrators will review the submitted information and confirm that all required information has been received.
- Funding Distribution: Once the required intake and verification process is complete, approved grant recipients will receive their recovery grant. DEO will provide additional assistance to businesses that need support receiving their payment through direct deposit
