DEO will be deploying approximately $99 million in grants for LA County small businesses and other economic development initiatives including access to grant opportunities, talent pipelines, legal and more.

Economic Opportunity Grant Program (EOG)

EOG will award more than $54 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds across 6,800 grants to LA County small & micro businesses, and non-profits.

Economic Opportunity Grants

Small businesses, micro businesses, and non-profits in LA county may qualify for financial relief through our Economic Opportunity Grants (EOG) program. EOG offers $54+ million in grant awards ranging from $2500 to $25,000, technical assistance, and other County services to help businesses recover, stabilize, and grow! DEO has teamed up Bet Tzedek Legal Services and Public Counsel to provide free legal assistance to small businesses including one-on-one counseling, webinars, and more!

Eligible small businesses can connect with free legal experts who can provide help on a number of legal issues such as drafting and reviewing contracts, business structure and entity formation, employee safety, and paid leave, application of COVID regulations to business operations and more! C4C is an 8-week training program that connects LA County residents with lived life experiences to hands-on, paid training and job placements in the social services sector.

Individuals with lived homelessness or justice system experience can get hands on, paid training to kick start a meaningful career in the homeless services sector. Careers for a Cause (C4C) is an 8-week training program designed to train and to employ potential participants by providing supportive services, case management support, job placements services, and more! Individuals can see all open recruitments programs available throughout LA County.

Pandemic Recovery Rapid Reemployment is helping LA County job seekers get back to work now with training, support, and connections to qualify for jobs in growing industries. LA County youth ages 17-24 can explore new diverse career pathways, partner with mentors, and earn paid work experience and training through Youth at Work Elevate! Eligible youth participants will earn $16 per hour and will be matched with high-growth, in-demand businesses with potential future job placement. 100% of the youths’ wages will be covered for up to 400 hours.
